Howdy all,

I am so far behind I did not know Toby had a second kid.

The name Aunt Kathryn gave me awhile back. I like white russians but I rarely drink, although I do have this rug that ties my room together very well.

On remembrances, the one person I do not have any memories of is Cynthia (spelling?). Maybe I'll post what I remember of my great-grandparents later.

  1. I like the rug reference :-). Mother – Cyntha - was such a large part of my life that I forget how young you and Trevor were when she died. No wonder you have so few memories of her. I imagine that Trevor has very few of Richard either. I think as we work through the family memories, you will get to know her better. One thing that I can say, no matter what I did, she always thought I was wonderful. She was also a really good writer - very funny. We used to get letters from her (that she wrote as if from the dog - that sounds dumb, but it really got across a lot of emotions that we don't always get across when we write as ourselves). Some of my favorite letters were from Simon, our Airedale. He was very smart :-). I'll tell you more later.

  2. I remember the Yuck Yuck dog series at college, Steph. Yuck Yuck was our air dale... great dog... and Cyntha wrote us n her name.

    Cyntha--
Also I wrote an anti-war/ anti_Vietnam/ pro conscious objector letter back to her my senior year and when I got home, it was framed and hanging on the wall. I asked her if she was impressed by my reasoning, my logic, my ethics, my great writing or whatever.
She replied dryly: "No, Phil. It was the ONLY letter you wrote home all year."
    (Glare, glare...)

    I got the point.

  3. LOL. Well, Yuck Yuck was our half poodle and half boxer. She definitely wrote to you at Sewanee. Simon was our Airedale, that we got when Yuck Yuck got run over. Both of them were amazing animals!
