Picture of the bridge

Phil, I don't remember where the bridge was for sure. It was between Iowa and Illinois and it was not a highway we were planning to take, but I saw the bridge from far off and just had to go see it. From a distance the bridge looks like big sails on the horizon. I know I should have kept a journal of where things were and where we went, but I guess I have always had a problem doing that. I seem to get caught in the doing and forget about the recording. That's why I try very hard not to be the minutes taker at any meetings.

Looking on the internet, I think it must be the bridge at Burlington: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Great_River_Bridge_Burlington_Iowa_1997.jpg

My picture is better :-).

Okay, that is not my new profession. That was a picture from my retirement party. I don't really feel retired yet. Here are some pictures of my trip to see McKenna and Keaton a couple of weeks ago. We are off Sunday for a week in LA . Meditation conference.

I love this picture.

Believe it or not I'm actually posting and will participate in the family blog! Wasn't antisocial...just needed time and guidance. Thanks Stephanie for inviting me over and over and over again. We're testing this out and will post a pic next time.

What are you reading right now?

I asked on my facebook and my other blog what people are reading right now and got some good suggestions and a couple of trends. So before I share those with you, what are you reading right now?

Back from vacation and will try to post some pictures

I am like everyone else, I guess, in that I plan to update everyday and then "things happen." Like this morning, I was going to write on both my blogs and then I got an email from one of my students with some wonderful news and then I answered it. And then another student walked in and we talked. Then a colleague came in and we talked. And now my day has started and I don't have those few minutes that I meant to set aside for the blogs. But I keep trying and will see if I can make it happen more regularly.

Anyway, we had a great vacation. We saw lots of fun and wonderous things. It was really great following Route 66, but we found no Tepees to stay in. Maybe next trip. We had a blast at Gfest, heard some good talks, watched all the quirky people, and Jack bought toys. We went on a boat archetectual tour that was fabulous. The guy really knew Chicago. And I got to see a side of the Mississippi that was new to me, coming from Baton Rouge. People actually go out on the river in little boats and fish and stuff :-).

So how is everyone else and where are you now?
