Count down to trip and report on the Kerrville Folk Fest

Well, I am starting to get ready for the trip. Make sure my phone has international service (it does) and make sure all my ducks are in a row (no, they are not coming with me). Make sure I know how to use my camera (as if I will remember to take pictures) and make sure I know the words to all the Robert Burns songs (559 that I know of - maybe I will have to skip some of them). Kelly is our elder world traveler. Any advice?

I went to the Kerrville Folk Festival this past weekend and was really blown away by the talent there. I knew I was going to hear some good music, but I didn't realize that everyone would be as good as they are. It was amazing. If you get a chance to hear any of the following, go listen to them:

Grace Pettis, Megan Burtt (from Colorado), Roy Schneider, Steve Chizmadia, The YaYas, Seth Glier, Zoe Lewis, Jonathan Byrd, Slaid Cleaves, Susan Werner, Kenny White, Cheryl Wheeler, David Wilcox - and then they had someone you might have heard of - Judy Collins.

  3. Sounds like a great trip. Diana and Brad are more of the experts on the Scottish, Irish scene. I say breath deeply, relax, enjoy, take and spend plenty of money since that why you have it and sing and dance whenever you get a chance. Wish I was going.

  4. Don't know if we are the experts, but we did enjoy Ireland. But I do agree with the breathe deeply, relax, enjoy, sing and dance whenever you can....and if you have any money spend it! I too wish I was gong to Scotland with you. Can't wait to hear about it.
