There is a great article in this week's New Yorker Jan 25 called the Dime Store Floor (p. 33) about smell and memory of youth... I suggest photos and songs also trigger memories of the archetypals in our memories..
These are two images I am getting ready for a local show. That's my easy-going morning activities.

great photos, especially the house . I read the article in the New Yorker. The several smells that really bring back memories is the smell in mid August that signals the start of two a day football practices. I can almost know the exact day. The other was when I went for a walk on 9th street in Stillwater when we stayed there for the re-union; that took me back to pre-teen childhood.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Smells - for me it is often music instead. I can hear certain songs and I am in a particular place - it can go back a long time of back a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteWalk, Don't Run and I am in Ponca City - and can smell it.
Johnny Angel and I am in Wichita at the stables with Girl Scouts - and can smell it.
And the list goes on and on.
