For all those who called themselves "ain'ts"
Get on the bandwagon of Saints
Get the bags off your heads
Get off the strong meds
We don't need to hear your complaints
It's off to Miami we go
with Reggie and Drew and big "Mo'
The Vikings, pretenders
we'll swamp their defenders
alas, our birthright,we crow.

Okay, I was lost for a second. I am reading an Icelandic novel that talks about saints - in a very Icelandic way - and vikings - in a very Icelandic way, but Miami? Oh, football. Nice verse!
ReplyDeleteMy brothers and sister are a hoot
When it comes the games with the foot
They know all the names,
the scores, and the fames
While I know not for whom I should root.
bully, bully-what a hoot!

ReplyDeleteWorthy of a Smiley Andres column, Kelly...
ReplyDeleteI add my modest posey..
The years of playoff struggles are now gone
Saints happy faces are not long
But I must admit
In a an overtime fit
I thought it might again be flushed down the john
The game, again and again was terse,
For I thought once again we were cursed
Then the ball fell our way
No flags ruin the day
Saints Superbowl tickets?? What a first!!!
