Back from Honduras. Had a good trip. visited about 7 villages. Everything appeared to be relatively settled in the countryside after their recent political upheaval. We met beautiful, funny people. We hope to do a building project in the village of El Carmen in the coming year.

Just heard a nice NPR story on Honduras and how Americans need to come back to visit more... Guy was from New York city if anyone heard it.
ReplyDeleteKelly, you should become a tourist agent for the country and get us vacation packages. I bet the new presidente would give you a medal or something. Tour of the White House.
I would sign up for sure.
I also heard on the radio that they had an assassination in Honduras yesterday. So,while a drug dealer is not on the same level, your record of hurricanes and political upheaval remains somewhat intact.
ReplyDeleteyeah! We have assasinations in Baton Rouge and New Orleans on a right regular basis; they just don't happen to "impotent" people. Yes, I could put a little travel package together to some of the most beautiful areas, and so not so beautiful, parts of Honduras, but I don't think anyone could casually drop in on the president right at this particular time.
